Okay so im thinking about joining a sport probably when i go back to school but i never play sports really and i hate the competition like i hate when i play at school in gym and ppl get mad because i dont know how to play good.Like i dont get the big whopp about sports like i wish it was something dealing with fashion and acting at my school but it aint so. yeah what u think i should do because i want to meet new people when i go back to school.Im 5'8 and weigh like 170 and trying to lose more weight so what sports would u recommend for me.ANd i know you people are gonna say basketball but really i suck at basketball not really good at it ( ppl even tell me that ] but this one gym teacher told me i was doin good when she was watching me shoot the balls in the hoop but i was just gettin lucky i wasnt really tryin.
oh and i cant do no running cuz i got asthma.

you should play golf for your school because everyone knows respect in that game and no matter how bad you are at it, you can always get better, it doesn't take that much energy, and people will never make you feel bad. Everyone always inspires you to keep going.

I know you may think your weight would make a big issue against it, but cross country is a sport where you could help trim down, build more cardio fitness for yourself, and get involved in a team sport, where you don't need to worry about affecting your teammates individual performances.
I had loads of fun competing and there were some huge races I attended. I was also FAR from being the best runner, but I did feel good physically and became one of the better runners on my team.

There are tons of sports you can play. If none the common ones are right for you go for the uncommon.
You could try fencing. (Sword Fighting)
I started fencing when I was 11 or 12 and it's really fun. It works muscles you don't usually use and helps with balance. It makes you move around a lot while staying in certain stance. It is a tough sport but it's very fun.
You could also try Scuba diving, squash, cricket, badmitten, extreme foursquare, etc. There are so many awesome sports out there. Try one I bet you'll find one your good at.
