All my life I have wanted to help people, and I read the book "the street lawyer" by John Grisham and was inspired. I do not want to be a lawyer, but I would like to help people in the same kind of way as the man in that book did, like a case worker I guess, I have heard so many things negative and positive about social work, so I am wondering is that really the field I want to go into to help people get resources or is there another name for a job like this? I am most interested in working with youth and gangs and focusing on helping them get jobs and get into programs that they qualify for but dont know anything about,but I would like to have a variety elderly, disabled, homeless, ect , thankyou
