I want to go to either barber/beauty school. Which one is better in so cal?

I am looking for a good barber/beauty school in Southern California. I live in the Temecula area and would prefer it to be closer to home. But all the ones I have seen are like $12,000. :/ I dont have that kind of money... Anybody go to a JC (junior college) and take these courses? Tell me your experience!
