...doesn't want me to leave her? I have a sister whose ten years younger than me. Of course I'll miss my whole family but she's so young and she thinks that I'm leaving her and wouldn'treally understand it. I really want to go but I don'twant to upset her and I want to keep our close relationship. Any advice or sharing personal experience would be great. I have two more years before college, and she would be almost 8 when/if I go.

I can see where you are coming from. However, you need to do what will benefit you. If YOU want to go to college in Australia then you should, she will understand someday. But think of how you will feel the rest of your life by not doing what you want, you will be full of regret, and who's to say someday you may not lay the blame on her and ruin your relationship that way.

You can't give up your life for your sister. You would not be there the whole time and would get to come home. She will be older when you actually start. Maybe community college and then go.

Tell her that by then you will be able to use the internet to talk all the time and maybe she could come visit you there. You have to do what is best for you, and she will understand when she sees that you had fun and did what you wanted to do.
