I want to go in to medicine and want to major in Psychology in college. Is that ok?

So i do not want to be a biology/chemistry major, and enjoy Psychology. I would love to be a psychology but also want to go to med school. I've heard that it does not matter what your major is for medical school, as long as your MCAT is good and you have all the pre-req classes. Is that true? Would Psychology be ok? Thanks
