good beginner's bike? I'm about 6'0 and weigh 135lbs. I'm not sure about brands or sizes? I want a bike that I can handle as a beginner and something that isn't so expensive. I know gas prices are going up so motorcycles have some pretty good mileage. I was originally looking at the Kawasaki Ninja series I also wanted to know how can you tell if you can handle another person on your bike with you? Thanks if anyone has any other suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Before you buy a motorcycle you should take the Motorcycle Safety Course (MSF course). It is well worth the money and could give you an idea for a good starter bike. Personally I would choose one of the 250 cc bikes to start on and practice my skills before moving to a bigger bike. The resell for almost the original purchase price. Like the Honda Rebel 250. Or if you want to jump into something bigger, look at the Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD, it has enough power to last you forever, carrying 2 or not. Sport bikes (crotch rockets) are not necessarily a good bike to start on and are the ones with the most crashes (usually because they are ridden more by young guys without much experience who over ride their skill level)
