I've joined the ANG and have spent around 3 months drilling in their "student flight" which trains you for BMT and helps to get accustomed to what you will experience in a relaxed environment. I joined with the intention that it will help me gain more experience and a greater sense of purpose in my life, the monetary benefits aren't to be ignored as well.
What I'm asking, is how difficult is it to be with your family in the ANG? I've seen some people say that it is like having a job rather than being in different branches or active duty AF, but that at the same time it is difficult.
Also, i found out i'm having a child around mid-July and didn't know if it were common for admin and command to separate BMT and Tech School dates, because it is my first child and I would very much like to be a part of that. I would deal with it if I couldn't, because i have no choice otherwise, i just wondered what my options were.
If also anyone could describe what their life is like in the ANG, that would be very beneficial for me as well.
