A friend of mine told me a fool proof way of cooking roast beef. It was something like this: Preheat oven to 500 degrees put roast in and cook for 5 min per pound then turn off the oven and let it sit. Can someone confirm or sdjust these settings, etc? My friend has passed away so I can't ask her.
