I want to connect a blackberry bold 9700. (but there's a problem)?

so my sister gave me a phone that she found which happens
to be the blackberry bold 9700. I really want to connect
this is phone, (I was gonna try metropcs) but I think the phone is reported
as stolen. How can i connect this phone?
is there anyway I can connect the phone to
metro pcs if it is reported stolen or lost?
