I want to change my nokia x6 to an unlocked phone?

Im currenlty on the 3 Network Australia plan ($29 monthly). I got sick of the phone, since it kept dying on me even though i replaced the battery 3 times and the 3 dealer wouldn't let me change to another phone-since i was on a 24 months contract. I was thinking of going onto an unlocked mobile, the Huawei G6600D and purchasing it at at Dick Smith.

I'm not sure if the features would work if i purchased the Huawei G6600...
