...dealer doesn't rip me off? I'm going to try to buy my very first car, and I have decided on the Toyota Prius 4, 2010. I can put a couple of thousand down, so I'm ok there... I just don't know how to buy a car without getting ripped off! I went to a dealership this weekend and the salesman wouldn't look at me. He kept asking my friend (who's a guy) questions even though he kept redirecting the salesman to me. Then it took the sales guy 30 minutes to get a key to see the inside of one of the Priuses on the lot. It just made me infuriated, so I left. Help? Suggestions?
 
The new priuses are in high demand, so the dealers won't have any problems finding buyers. If the salesman here is being rude towards you, head out to another Toyota Dealer. There are plenty around, and a dealer that doesn't respect you doesn't deserve your business.

As for worrying about if they rip you off, don't expect to get any discounts on a brand new Prius. You'll most likely be paying the sticker price.
