I want to buy my boyfriend a winch for his jeep. What kind do i buy? how much

weight does it need to hold,etc? I don't know much about jeeps and don't wana buy him the wrong one....a little help?
I'm not sure what kind of jeep he has, i don't want to ask because then he'll know his gift, lol. Its some kind of jeep wrangler, 2000 i think....dunno it that helps
 
If we are talking CJ-5 I would want an 8,000 lb. Warn winch myself. If it is an older model Wagoneer or something in that realm I think a 10,000 lb. would be more appropriate.

Don't forget a roller fair-lead (sometimes included and sometimes not) and be aware that he may need some form of mounting hardware.

Tell him he should add a second battery and a battery Isolator as well.
