I want to buy a used Honda Civic, and have up to $3500. What is the oldest

year that would still be reliable? My dad always buys older (older than 2000) used cars that end up having tons of problems and that are scary to drive because of all their problems. I can't afford a new car, but I would like an older one that will be safe to drive in the summer heat and the winter snow. What year of Honda would you suggest that's in my price range? (There are several in the classifieds up to 2002 that are still under 3500). I don't want an old clunker car, but I'm wondering how old a car I can go and still be safe.
