I want to buy a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H55 camera.......but little bit confused.....?

I have been looking at buying a compact digital camera and was looking at the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H55. It has a G lens while other Sony cameras usually carry the Carl Zeiss lens. What is the G lens......is this lens superior to Carl Zeiss lens?
