I'm Planning on buying a GPS but the cigarette lighter socket in my car is broke, and the dealer says it will cost $150.00 to fix! --I also have a "power outlet" located below the lighter --(which I have never used, and don't even know what it's for!)...will it run the GPS without harm or must I use the cigarette lighter? So which is best to plug the GPS into? --the cigarette lighter socket, or the power outlet?
