i want to buy a 240sx?

so i am 18 and i want to buy a 240sx. BUT i live with my parents still and my mom will not let me buy one. its my money and legally i can buy it if i want to, but my mom says "if i buy it i have to move out because she has a bad feeling that something will happen to me if i get one." I dont know what to do. she says they are unsafe bc they are made in the 90's. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME i need to convince her to let me buy one.
