I want to buy a 1953 Willys CJ3A Jeep, but I'm kind of afraid to?

I want to buy a 1953 Willys CJ3A Jeep, but is it really hard to steer and brake without power steering and brakes? If it's really difficult, can I install power steering and brakes? I don't plan on any highway driving, either.
