I want to build the strongest assassin in Mafia Wars that I can. How do I go about this?

Playing mafia wars on facebook, and I want to build a strong character. Thank you in advance.
edit: WITHOUT CHEATING. I know to do jobs.. Specifically, what should I do most of? Work off the histlist? Fight until the person is dead? should I increase my attack at a higher rate than defense? thanks again!
 
I play mafia wars on facebook and i know that to gain experience you have to do jobs and to level up you have to get experience,so i think you should do alot of jobs.

OR.....
You could download a cheat engine and cheat your way to the top of the leader board
