Recently, I was thinking about going into the film industry by being an actor. The problem is I'm still in the 11th grade, in high school, and I haven't taken any prior steps towards preparing. I've been in Speech and Debate my junior high and that's really all I have done in front of small crowd. I've performed in front of my classroom occasionally for projects but that's probably the only thing that I've done under peer pressure. I'm going to be auditioning for the musical that is coming up at my school just to see how it's going to be like but what else can I do to prepare? Next year will be my last year in high school and after that I'm off to college. My high school offers drama and theatre as one of their courses so maybe I should take it my senior year? What can I do right now (and when I go into college) to pursue my dream of becoming a movie actor? What do I do afterwords when I feel "prepared" after all of the training in classes?
By the way, I am an asian american wanting to become a movie actor. I don't really want a "main" role but one that will get me "famous" or "well known". I don't know if this extra information will help me get what I want or not.
