Currently I am a freshman in High School and i have always loved everything dealing with research, science, math and astronomy. I already know that i have to take as many maths, science, physics classes as possible (next year i will be in AP Calculus, so i am fairly proficient in math). I also am fairly proficient in a few programming languages. I also know that i have to read books and other what not to keep up with the Science/ Physics and books on stuff like quantum mechanics, particle theory, and just basic things on histories of scientists. I also am aware that i should take plenty of writing classes so i know how to write things correctly, like research papers, essays, ect.
Here are my questions:
So i am pretty much know what i should take know in high school, but what colleges should i be looking into to go to (and stuff like about how graduate school works and what is next)? And do they except federal loans, have scholarships and what might I expect to pay per semester and how many years would an average student have to pay to get in?
What are places of employment that i could expect to get a job in the future from?
What classes should I major in, in college/graduate school, why? What classes should i expect to minor in?
What are the current salaries for an Astrophysicist?
More book suggestions for reading, (i have already read "In search of Schrödinger’s Cat" and the "The Scientists" both by John Gribbin, some biographies on Einstein and Stephen Hawkins and a few others I can’t seem to remember right now...)
Also are there any other things that I should consider doing now, and or in the future?
And, any other things that I should know about but don’t.
I know that is a lot of questions, it’s just that I have so many that I am unsure about and feel I need to know these things soon, being that high school goes by so fast and if this would actually be something I would want to spend my life doing or if I need to reconsider a career for myself. And thank you very much for helping me with my questions, in advance.
If you would like to contact me with more information that you don’t want posted here, just email me through the answers mail thing and I will give you my real email address.
