Ok, I want to be a TX state trooper, however I have had some past citations for speeding and for no insurance. The points law kicked in and my license was suspended in 2008 for DWLI (driving without liability insurance). I saw on the website one of the dis-qualifiers was having your license suspended. Other than the traffic violations I really don't have much of a past except having odd jobs here and there lasting less than 5 or 6 months...never been fired. In the past 2 years, no citations, got married had a kid, finished college with a Biology degree, basically settled down. Now my question is, should I go through the trouble of applying or is that automatically a reason for DPS to say no to me??? Thanks I really appreciate the input.
