I want to be a boy. How do I make it said without being too outlandish?

This is related to adolescence, so into the gender ignorant teens section it goes.

I want to be seen as a boy. But I don't want to "come out" yet.

I already told my mom I want a haircut, and she agreed after a few questions on why. I have no problems when it comes to dressing in a boyish way. I want to be called "Shane", but I can make that into a nickname.... Somehow. I can "practice" being more like a boy in my room, and observe my peers.

I'd like to be referred to in a masculine way, but that's saying too much right now. I still have to wear skirts to school, and I have no one that I would ''out'' myself to.

..Any ideas? Advice? Help?
