i want to apply for "history of art" and i'm not an artist?

can anyone with a knowledge of this field please help me make up my mind? i'm really interested to know about the history of art, particularly the medieval period, but i have no background in any from of arts. by the way, i have an MA in English.
 
Maybe if you did some research into it first you would be able to make your mind up yourself. If this is what you want to do, I don't think background of art is particularly relevant as it is likely this will also be taught to you as long as you do your home research you will be able to gain knowledge on this field before hand.

ok go eat a big chili cheese dog and then wipe your face with a piece of paper.... now go and sell that piece of paper for a million bucks cause you are now a artist
 
idk how it is your country, but my parents both studied history of art in holland, and they are not artists at all. my father has a MA in it, but my mom didnt get any degree...
