which leads me to think the blackjack is best. would anyone agree?

does anyone have it? how is it?

my biggest concern is the internet access? is it fast? the guy at the store said its g3 so its suppose to be cable internet fast (like my computer) but i have my doubts. since im on the road alot i want to be able to access the internet/email/anything with ease and fast connection.

how is the phone overall? easy to use? hows the battery life? is it recommended? pros? cons?

any info/suggestions/opinions are highly appreciated.

You will never get PC broadband speed on a handheld, or at least not any time soon. Too many limiting factors such as the connection, the handheld's processor speed and available memory. In addition to that 3G isn't built out in very many places so far.

I suggest you search the forum and read through the blackjack messages. Youwill have most of your questions answered as they have all been covered many times.

But I will give you a hint: battery life on a Blackjack sucks, especially in 3g or when switching between EDGE and 3G when in a fringe area.

do i have any other options with cingular in terms of getting a phone with real internet on it (not that media net crap)?

if its not as fast as broadband, i understand but id still prefer somewhat decent speed. my current phone loads very slowly and its only got media net on it. how fast is 3g?

as for battery life, dont have much of an option with that? guess ill get the car charger to help out (if i do choose to buy a blackjack).

thanks for the info.

The 8525 has a faster processor. My advice is to go try it out and see if you can live with the speed.

The fastest EDGE speed is 236 kbps with the average between 50-90 K, slightly faster than dial up.

3G is rated between 400 to 700 kbps, max around 1 mbps.

being that my biggest concern is about the internet and connection speed, wouldnt you agree the blackjack fits that better than the 8525? i dont need many of the other bells and whistles. plus the blackjack is a better price.

re; the internet - is it EXACTLY like the one i get on my personal home computer or is it a phone-type internet like media net (where things look different)? can i goto youtube and watch videos on the blackjack? can i visit any site id like?

I don't surf a lot, but I think if you hit a site that is optimized for mobile users, then you get the optimized version. CNN is CNN as you see it on web with a PC.

Since you seem to be a bit picky about it, I still say you need to go try it out first. I think Cingular will give you a couple weeks to play before you have to decide to keep it or return it.
