The PS3 has a solid line up of Exclusives for 2008: Haze, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM Confrontation, and Resistance 2.
Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy versus XIII and Full version of Gran Turismo 5 were listed as 2008 games, but they aren't coming until 2009.
Killzone 2 was scheduled for a September 2008 release, but it was delayed. Most likely it was delayed because Resistance 2 was coming out just a few months later (November), and Sony probably didn't want to release 2 of their top shooters within such a short time frame of each other. Delaying Killzone 2 to February 2009 was the best decision to make. Resistance 2 will be the PS3's top shooter for 2008, and Killzone 2 will be the PS3's top shooter for 2009, Sony can't release everything it has all at once.
There was a lot of big PS3 exclusives scheduled for a 2008 release, but several of them just didn't make a 2008 release.
In my opinion, if Final Fantasy XIII ,the full version of Gran Turismo 5, and Killzone 2 could have made a 2008 release, it would have indeed been "Year of the PS3", but those games are coming in 2009 and that's fine with me because when they come, they will sell tons of PS3's just like how MGS4 will sell PS3's.
It's not like the Xbox 360 didn't have any delayed games either. Both Alan Wake and Halo Wars "quietly" slipped into 2009 too according to articles I've read Online. Also, Microsoft didn't even mention either Alan Wake or Halo Wars in their Official announcement for games coming in 2008 just a few days ago and that pretty much confirms that they aren't coming in 2008.
