i think my cv joint went out on my 1990 pontiac grand am please help!?

You can get an entire replacement axle with inner and outer CV joints at Advance Auto Parts for around $80. You should be able to find a mechanic to install it for $75. Then you are ready to go except maybe sooner or later the other side will need attention.
 
when you put the car in gear it makes a clicking and grinding noise, the rod under the engine turns, but where it goes into the wheel it don't. it has no pull and will not move. before this happened it had a click when u turn the wheel and a bad vibration when going 35 mph. and faster..if you need anything else please ask and i'll try to answer it.
