...seeking help.? My boyfriend and i have been together for a little over 3 years. We both go to, and live on campus at, the same university about 20 minutes away from his house. He is an only child and very close to his parents. He normally goes home every weekend. It used to be that he would go home to spend time with his friends who are still in high school, but it has turned into times when he will just sit in his room and do nothing but play video games for 10+ hours. He began gaining weight his first semester of college, about 40 pounds, But because his was his first year of college so I wrote it off as his freshman 15. He went from being his high school valedictorian and having a 4.0 his freshmen year to averaging Bs & Cs during his sophomore year. He has begun to become anti social, he only likes being around either me, his parents or his best friend. He has became addicted to video games and ignores his studies.
He is now a sophomore and has gained about 150 pounds since starting college. Along with this he has begun to ignore Hygiene, where once he was always clean, he will now go several weeks between each shave. His GPA is now a 3.3 and he has been informed that if he doesn't pull his GPA up he will be kicked out of the Honors program, but he doesn't care.
Recently he has become very snappy and confrontational to anyone who challenges him where before he was just one of those guys who would sit back not let anything become heated. He has never held a job for over 3 months and now his parents are getting a divorce.
I am really worried about him and am terrified of what is happening. He began pushing me away a few months ago and spends 5+ hours everyday playing video games where he becomes irrationally mad any time something doesn't go his way, yelling and screaming at the screen.
I just don't know what to do and don't want him to get angry at me for trying to "accuse" him of being depressed. I really want to help him and I dont want to lose him.
