Well he asked me if I wanted to go watch footie at the pub tomoz it's kick off at 12 and they was going down at about half ten and I said I would pick him up but that means I can't have a drink cause I'm driving and I ain't really got the funds so I just text him saying sorry mate but I just reallized I ain't got the funds was it the wrong thing to do
 
The funds for what, exactly? If you don't have money, just tell him.


One drink should be fine. .08 alcohol seems to be the limit in most modern day countries, except in Russia where I believe it's .02. Just don't drink anymore than two.
