so my e71 is my backup phone
i let my cousin borrow and he loved it
he got a n8 so he gave me the e71 back
i performed a reset (*#7370#) and i accidently removed the battery
is there anyway i can recover from this?
please help me!
thanks in advance

You could try a 3-button reset but I'm not sure it will work for you in this case.

Press and hold the green call button, * and 3 simultaneously. While holding them all down, press and hold power until you get the vibe. Keep holding the 3 buttons until you get the NOKIA logo.

Tried this it, it didn't work. It did vibrate when i attempted to power it yesterday. I tried this method this morning and no response. Its not even responding when i try and power it.
thanks anyway! appreciate it much
any more suggestions?

Have you tried NSS (Nemesis Service Suite) with the phone plugged into the USB port? I've only ever used this to change the product code but if you search around you'll see how people use it to install firmware versions.

How do you accidentally remove a battery during a device reset? That's a sure fire way to brick a device.

Try the 3-finger salute again but hold the power button down until the unit fully boots. If this doesn't recover then you need to move on to more drastic measures.

well... i was on the phone while i was trying to reset it, and my mind was somewhere else
don't ask... i tried the 3 finger thing. no luck there. what are these drastic measures you speak of?
if the phone is bricked its all right, i would just like to know so i don't put any more time into it and just get another backup phone

There are tools that may be able to be used to download the image files and push them to the device as long as you can still access the USB port on your computer. I've personally never had any experience flashing using anything other than PC Suite but perhaps those that have can help out. I've used Nemesis NSS to change product codes to load other firmware variants but I've never used other tools to programs. I can't remember the name of the tools you would need to use. You would need Navifirm to get you access to the files that you need to download though.
