I think i may have been visited by a spirit...why would this happen to me?

I don't believe in any organized religion. I'm more of a spiritual person without religion. I have seen strange things in my life like shadowy like entities that gave sheer terror...well just a secound ago I was just sitting in my room and I heard the noise of something like if someone sat down ontop of my bed...I got the sensation that it was some spirit or entity and asked who and what it was but I didn't get an answer...but I got a feeling as if I was being touched gently with feathers down the side of my face and arm. This didn't scare me it was actually very peaceful and calmed me, but why would things like this happen to me? Its kind of a family thing. my grandma sees spirits. dreamt of visions like future people of the family not born yet and it comming to pass and my aunt she seems connected to that stuff as well its just I don't understand all of this? What does this mean and is it important? Should I not worry about this? People think im nuts when I mention these things...
