I think I figured out why I can never keep my room clean.

I was looking around tonight and realized something.

-I have around 40 issues of Game Informer, some dating back to Y2K.

-30 Issues of god awful Mad Magazine.

-Four monitors, one of which is dead, one of which sucks, and one I got out of the trash two days ago (It works great).

-More classic game systems than you can shake a stick at.

-Counting both complete and incomplete systems, seven desktops, including a Mac IIsi, and three laptops (one broken but fixable). Only two of these desktops are in active use, as well as one laptop.

-Four printers, including one broken one I got out of the trash.

-Parts so old they have no use. Two 486 motherboards, three 640x480 9" DSTN laptop screens, and two Vesa Local Bus video cards.

-Too much other crap to list.

I don't think I have OCD because I could easily part with all this stuff and not care, but I keep it all because I found it generally comes in handy.

Does anyone else here hoard this much shit?
 
You should see my basement. Oh man, all the game magazine and old school Nintendo Power I have laying around. I have MTG cards littering my house. I have a fuck ton of board games in another corner. I have two nonfunctional comps (including printers and monitors) laying around somewhere. With the novels I have laying everywhere, I'm already prepared for an easter egg hunt.

Too lazy to actually look around and list the rest of the shit.
 
In my room I have:

A bed, a dresser, a chest of drawers, etc. All your basic necessities.

AND:

30 issues of Animerica from like, 1999+
Several unhung posters of a 427 Shelby Cobra
Pictures dating from 2000+
A gamecube.
A PS1.
An Xbox, at the moment.
An SNES.
Two TVs.
Two Stereos.
Santa Claus (don't fucking ask.)
Several Asian looking lamps.
A DVD Cabinet, with no DVDs in it.

Much more, including clothes scattered on the floor from where I moved out in a hurry. lol

I have to go back and get my stuff, but trust me, it looks like a miniature Hurricane Katrina disaster zone.
 
The main mess in my room are dirty clothes laying around. I only pick them up when I have to clean them because I'm running out of clothes. Why don't I just throw them all in a basket? I really have no fucking clue.
 
I hate cleaning. With a passion. If it weren't for all these damned judgemental pricks walking around that insist upon entering my home and sniffing around, I'd live in a heap of clutter....footloose and fancyfree.

The OP sounds like a classic guy. Men have the hardest time letting go of old useless crap.

I just helped my parents clean out their attic and found the old atari system complete with 2 controllers and pong. as well as my old NES and the cool super mario bros and duckhunt combo with gun. also found: 250+ pics of my sis and I, chew toys for a dog that died 18 years ago, a box marked 1988 (the year we moved there), a box full of eight track tapes (neil diamond anyone?), and the ever popular christmas decorations from years ago that haven't been used in at least 15 years.
my bedroom has 4 monitors, 3 towers, old speakers that don't work and 2 laptops... none of these are connected to anything... plus a box marked CD's that is full of cables, mouse pads, mouse parts, ect...:gun: :flamed:
 
I have so much shit in my room. I tend to keep things until someone makes me throw them out.
In my room I have::

-about a million clothes/costumes

-more than 20 pairs of shoes (not including dance shoes)

-more than 150 manga (anime comic books) mind you, my room is for the 'extra' or 'flowover' manga.

-more than 10 bags

-6 swords

-5+ traffic cones, a road block, and a stop sign

-a deer head/antlers with cosplay hats

-a ps1, 2 ps2s, an Xbox, a Gamecube, and 5+ gameboys

-2 Televisions

-tons of DVDs (mostly anime) and a few VHS's (all anime)

-2 41quart tubs of yarn/knitting needles/crochet hooks

Let me just say that if I turn all my crap on, my room will get up to 110 deg F with the airconditioning on, and set to 60.

I don't even want to get started on guns, swords, knives, or chainsaws...
 
I hoard weird things, like notebooks and writing utensils.

And boxes. I have a nice assortment of various boxes, and I love and use every single one of them.
