I think doxycline is making me sick

Today is my 11th day on 200 mg/day. My voice started getting hoarse after 3 dyas on it, my throat hurts all the way down to my lungs, no GI symptoms, aching all over. Has anyone has this reaction to Doxycline. This is the first time I've taken a tetracycline type antibiotic in years.

I don't believe I've got the flu but maybe this medication has just run my system down because I feel awful. I'm calling the doctor in the morning but just wondering if others got these side effects for Doxycline.

I took doxycycline for 4 years with almost no reaction, then suddenly developed a seizeure disorder from it. I was told that there are a lot of uncommon reactions to this medication and my dr. wasnt that surprised that this happened. She put me on a Z-pac after that and that worked for a while. I did it about once a month as my acne flaried up.
 
Thank you. I called my doctor and he will prescribe something else for me. The nurse said that I can keep using the topical antibiotic.
 
Clindamycin capsules are great for getting rid of face and body acne.
Ask your Derm about Clindamycin capsules. It worked for me.
