dispute advertising...? in magazines, exhibitions, google advertising! Am i the only wedding planning business suffering right now? I'm a qualified and eager for enquiries but people enquire then disappear before even a quote at times!!! It really builds up your hopes and you really generally want to help but it’s like you've been messed around? It's costing loads through advertising now for no return! Can anyone suggest anyways i can help develop my business as I’m very passionate about it and would love it to work. Thank you

Maybe you can advertise as a "party" planner instead so that you can expand your client base. You can specialize in weddings but do all parties (kids, milestone anniversaries etc)

Also, if you haven't had any clients, you'll have hard time trying to convince people of your talents. Like some kind of portfolio of your past weddings to see what your capable of (photos, letters of recognition etc)

What made you get into this field? You must know some people that can help you out...anyone that can help you gain some experience, even if you had to volunteer a few hours a week to do so? You're not doing anything now anyways and it will be a great way to get out there!! You need to create some word-of-mouth clients...

Talk to managers at wedding related venues to see if you can put up a flyer or business card somewhere (cake shops, banquet halls, florist shop, dress shops etc). A lot of them already have bulletin boards for this purpose. In turn, tell them you'll recommend their business to all clients.

Don't forget that right now, you'll be lucky to get anything. Christmas is coming, the economy sucks and the next couple of months are the least popular times for having weddings...

The best thing to do is to take advantage of the free time you have to gain more knowledge and experience about weddings. Good luck!
