...change? 2 Years ago I started an Information Technology IT degree. Having just turned 21, and having 1 year left, I am now at the point where I feel I would not like to primarily work around computers and information systems. I cant see myself working around computer systems anymore, and I don't want to work a typical 9am - 5pm job stuck in an office cubical. Ever since I started working in retail 2 years back, I have realized I want to move around and interact with others, and make a contribution to society.
Should I just complete my IT degree, change to an business information systems degree (would get credit for most subjects), re-start another degree (maybe teaching or arts), or drop out altogether? Currently I have found the Social Policy subjects interesting and dreaded doing the programming subjects.
Further If I just stick to finishing my degree, is it possible to make a sharp turn and persue another area?
I know probably many kids also get stuck in this same situation, though would appreciate any honest advice.
thank you, Ben
