...I can get it back? Hello,I recently relocated to TX for work. I flew down 2 weeks prior to my move looking for a place to live, I found a place yet was not asked to sign a lease, I did submit a $300 security deposit which I have a receipt for & filled out the paper work for a credit check. I was called twice with the apartment # changing (I no longer had a top apartment which is what I wanted) He said "nothing is guaranteed in this industry". Arriving to move in I was alarmed by the unprofessional cursing secretary who was upset because the manager never tells her where anything is (She was looking for my apartment key). When she escorted me to the apartment the floors were soaked, she said the carpet had been cleaned that morning, yet their were no fans or windows open.I told her I would have to re think my move,I called him told him I no longer wanted to move in and went down the reasons I told him at that point I would like a refund of my security deposit, he then hung up on me!! What can I do?

Sounds like you'd have a pretty good case to get it back, but you'll probably have to take him to the local housing authoritiy or to small claims court to do it. And expect him to lie.

Good luck
