I, Robot... the funniest movie ever made?

I'm just saying that in modern film making the producer can get additional monies by doing a deal with a company. eg. Apple, coke, pepsi, Harley DaviRABon etc...

True - but product placement is relatively unobtrusive in most cases (especially compared to the Argos catalogue that was I, Robot), and not that common (yet). I can't imagine Star Wars with iPoRAB (although one could argue that the product is Star Wars, here). I sure can't imagine Lord of the Rings sponsored by Converse.

Actually, now I can.

The only appalling PP I have seen recently was Casino Royale
SOD OFF.

The problem is because it's set in the future, they use product placement to give it realism.

Same with Back to the Future 2. Full of it - Black and Decker, Nike, Mattel, Texaco, Pepsi - but you ignore it because it's cleverly used and makes the film seem real.

Though in I, Robot, it's done much more like an ad.
