I replaced my fuel pump in my 2001 chevy van exp.& it won't work & fuel

gage drops full rt w/ key turned. Why? I checked w/ an ohmeter to see if power was getting to and fro, well I know it's going back but don't know exactly what I'm looking 4.. I'm going to replace PCM and see if that's the prob, but if it isn't I'm completely lost. I am lost. This is my work van, on the road, and my boat tower. I could use someone's expertise in these matters...PLEASE! Josh MC
