...this bad of me? I sometimes babysit for a monster of a child who belongs to my brother. He is 6 years old and still has trouble wiping his own bum after deficating. Sometimes it is a sucess, and other times it is not. A week ago he was having problems wiping his bum and asked me to help me, and I refused and told him to keep trying and wait until his mom got home. Personally, I do not feel it is my place to be wiping the bum of child who is not my own. His mother seemed to think this ws immature of me, but I am not only protecting my own self-interests as an adult who is babysitting a child, but also my nose as I do not want to touch not smell that kind of stuff. I informed her that I am happy to babysit, however this was one thing I would never do is wipe her childs bum. His father (my brother) just laughed and thought the whole thing was funny, but his mother did not. I personally think the kid just wanted attention to have me do something he knew I didn't want to do.
Was I wrong? I do not think I was but my sister in law seems to think so.
