...can fight it in court.? I was driving on an 80 km road and my friend yelled when the car next to me was to close. I moved my wheel to the left slightly but we were travelling about 92 kmh,(keeping with the flow of traffic) and for some reason my back end started fishtailing. I lost control spun out and landed in a ditch. The other driver drove off, the police gave me a ticket for careless driving, CAA came got me out of the ditch and then I drove the car home. The only actual witnesses to anything are my fellow classmates who were in the car at the time. Who are willing to testify. The car is tiny 3cylindered, 2 door 1993 geo metro. Do I need to hire a lawyer to fight this. Can I do it myself, do I have a good chance of winning this case.
 
Luckily nobody got killed.
What shape are the tires in, that will cause you to spin out when you are going too fast and over correct the steering.
Believe it or not, you lost control no matter what happened. So you are responsible and guilty as charged.
If a court appearance is required, then your at the mercy of the court.
If not required, send the money for the fine.
