I recently replaced the egr valve on my 96 toyota camry and now it stalls and sometimes won't start. i am on my second replacement egr valve. the first one worked for about a month until i started having problems. the new one started from day one. i have also put the old one back on and the car ran fine. i also have a real bad exhaust leak before the catalytic converter. could that be causing my problem with the stalling and starting and not the egr? my car does throw a code in the obd that is the egr valve code i believe it is p0401. im at a loss because when the car runs, it runs good. any ideas or insight would be greatly appreciated.
