I recently dropped my bike i looking to fix it but how do i paint it?

I recently dropped my streetbike and cracked the fairiing I know how to fix it using body filler, but i don't know how to paint it. Right now it is fire crackers red but i want to paint it black. I want a shiney black not a dull black. How can I do this because I'm not looking to spend alot of money because I getting another bike in january?
 
I recommend using water based latex from home depot. Use a brush not a roller. i would do 5 coats and to get that shiny look throw some glitter that strippers use on the final coat
