America still has black and white TVs too even if they're not common.
If you're saying they only broadcast in black and white then that is completely false.
You should never confuse individual wealth and poverty or religion and culture with "primitive" or 'advanced". It deals with cultural and social differences. The society you live in is not "better" because you happen to be raised in it - it is simply what you're used to. in the US we are generally more wealthy individually than many other people in the world. While your parents might be able to afford to put a color TV and DVD player in every room that doesn't mean everyone can or that everyone even wants to do so.
