It was based in New England area, The main characters are Ty and Deliah, Ty is a doctor and is in town for business and to find a bride for his widowed friend with two little girls. Ty places an ad in the paper, interviews several women and then finds Deliah in his bed asleep, she has broken ribs where her father beat her. He picks her and takes her to his settlement to marry his friend, on the way they make love and fall in love, she marries his friend and they dont live as a couple, she helps raise his kids and cleans the house, she cant cook. Indians attack and kidnap her and the preachers wife, on the way to the indian tribe they find her dead husband, Dr Ty finds out she was kidnapped and searches for her. They arrive at the INdian tribe and she is forced to run the Gaunlet twice beacuse the preachers wife is pregnant, she fights back and then Ty shows up. he saves her and they live as husband and wife until they can go back to town
