Maeve Binchy is one of the best known Irish fiction writers. She had a huge hit with Tara Road several years ago.

the only author i can think of that fits that description would be the marvellous Maeve Binchy who has written some great books like Circle of Friends, Tara Road, Scarlet Feather and Quentins the first two i mentioned have been made into movies
