As I Look Around
By Gideon
(Dedicated to my friend Kay)
I watch as spiders catch their flies
With sunlight glistening on their web
But also trapping butterflies
Exposes all their truths, as Lies
Thermals, determine where he goes
The Condor circles overhead
Below him, there are the flowers
Who will get their food, via their toes
The sparrows bath in dirt and sand
To free themselves from parasites
Unaware of the smiling face
From snakes, who can search with no hand
“Love refuses to be bound”
Is the song I hear in my heart
But who will play the melody
When Hate, keeps Faith chained on the ground?
