I put some tunes on the king!!!!

Well over the summer I was looking at youtube vids and came across a street glide that had a ridiculously LOUD audio system on it. So i thought to myself why not my KING???? I ordered a set of MH industry 4" handlebar mount speakers. I gutted them out and replaced them with a pair of Memphis Audio M-class 4" speakers. I wanted to keep the classic look of the bike and didnt want to make them real noticable so i mounted them on the crash bar. I also didnt really like the look of the 6x9s facing foward on the bags so I mounted a set of Memphis M-class 6x9s facing toward the wheel and drilled out 1/4" holes like a mesh styled grill in to the bag so that the sound would go through. I wanted a little more crisp highend sound so i mounted a set of Memphis M-class titanium dome tweeters in the side planels facing upward. To power up the system im using a 350.4 kicker 4channel amp with a fan to keep it cool in the bag. For a music source i got a rca to headphone jack cord and is hooked up to my IPOD. Needless to say my bike is f*$%ing LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its crisp and clear and you can here me coming down the road a mile away!!!! At 70mph you can hear all the words clear!!! Just thought I would share.

I didnt see the tweeters in the pics. Trying to envision what you mean by side panels facing upwards. Also, is the amp in left side bag?
Hell of a system ya got there.

Dude.......your King looks really good! Are you handy with a video camera? I was wondering if you could post a video with the tunes on. I wouldn't want to lose the bag space but that is a very interesting install. I bet you actually get some good bass with the 6x9 in the bag?

That is where I'd mount the "visible" speakers (crash bar). You did a good job replacin the chitty speakers of the MH holders. No serial built system so far has convinced me enough to "spoil" the looks of my ride with those huge 4" the sound is just not worthy. Looks like I'll be hading in your direction with a custom built system, my problem is that I don't run saddlebags and don't want to, so I'll work my way around that with some deattachable setup for the 6x9's.

Do you have any engine noise running tru your speakers at all??

Mimo.
