i put my car in the shop to get an o2 sensor, and a camshaft position sensor.....?

they told me that i should get an induction service but it would cost me $100 more on top of the 178 i am paying. Is this something i can do myself or is it even really that neccessary!??
 
Yes, it is something that is necessary from time to time but you don't need to pay someone to use a machine to do it. You can do a complete upper engine induction cleaning yourself with Seafoam Motor Treatment. Here is video instruction showing how to do it:
