end my contract after 9 months.? To start with i didn't have insurance and my phone cracked, so I took out insurance and upgraded to the 3g 8 months ago, I took it back to get a differnet phone and cancel my iphone contract, like I can, after 9 months and they told me I have to give the handset back, even though I've paid for it, because I'm canceling within 9 months, which is the reason I took out insurance because I didn't want it anymore, and was stuck paying for i untill my contract was up.

Please tell me they're wrong and I don't have to give it back, I payed £269 for the handset, £50 each month and £40 pounds every three months for insurance, I have been well and truly ripped off!!
 
No you haven't been ripped off.

The price of the phone is discounted because you sign up for a contract, therefore if you cancel early they are entitled to recover the rest of the cost from you .... In this case they take the phone back.

It's all in the contract you signed.

PS: Insurance is NOT to allow you to keep the phone after you cancel, it's for repair/replacement if it breaks.
