function is broken...PLESE HELP? Ok, So as I said before I own a Sony Vaio and it runs Vista. Whenever I start up my computer there is the Green AV virus window that says that I have a bunch of viruses on my computer. It also asks for my information. I have read that it wants my info to steal my credit card info.
I found a way to potentially fix the Green AV virus and have it deleted but the only problem is my Windows Explorer search "fails to initialize" (whatever that means). Other symptoms include my desktop background can not be changed and my computer runs slower than usual.
My programs run fine and i am able to use the internet and stuff...downloads work. These problems have been on my computer for about 3 years.
What I need is an easy do-it-yourself guide to fixing these problems because I am a college student and economically speaking I can not afford a new computer. If there is any information on helping me fix any of the problems my computer has please, please, help. I really could use some good news guys.
