The fuel pump recently went out in my van, when I had it towed to a shop, they said they thought I had a blown head gasket. That didn't sound right to me (symptoms and facts didn't add up) so I requested further testing and the results confirmed the Fuel pump went out. The shop is going to replace the fuel pump in addition to some kind of sealant for the head gasket. Now I get a call saying that removing the fuel pump turned out to be quite a task due to a dent in the gas tank and in order for the new fuel pump to go on properly, they are going to have to replace the gas tank.
In my opinion that seems a little fishy to me, why cant they just go in and push the dent out? . I was also wondering How the heck do you dent a gas tank?!? I just cant afford to be gettign "played" or "worked" because of my lack of knowledge about motor engines. Has anyone had anything like this happen or even hear of anything of the sort? PLEASE HELP time is money
